Wildsea Europe

There is an actual need to give visibility to a wide range of coastal and marine eco-tourism experiences in Europe, while creating a European network of tourist operators that actively foster love and respect for the Ocean through sustainable, responsible tourism.

How?

The purpose of this project is to create new sales and cross-marketing opportunities for both local nautical tourism companies and for marine ecotourism operators, empowering entrepreneurs and coastal communities to sustain local wealth and employment, all while celebrating and preserving Europe’s natural and cultural heritage.

Other key elements in the project include supporting sustainable lifestyles, improving ocean literacy through citizen science and preserving marine ecosystems.

The following organizations are partners in the Wildsea Europe network:

– Travelecoology (Managing Partner)

Agencia Catalana de Turismo (Catalonian Tourism Agency)

– Basquetour

– Donegal City Council

– Forum Oceano

– Highland Council

– SUBMON

Turismo de Galicia (Tourism of Galicia)

– World Cetacean Alliance

Wildsea.eu is the result of the “WILDSEA Europe Project,” a public-private European cooperation effort launched in June 2015 with the support of the European Union’s COSME program, through the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME).

“Our goal is to give you great tips for one-of-a-kind adventures at coastal destinations all over Europe. This provides for respectful contact with marine species in the wild, all while learning about their ecology and conservation.”
