Work we carry out at Submon

Projects SUBMON

Our main objective is to improve society’s relationship with the ocean, promoting sustainable use of the marine environment.

With 4 basic lines of action, which include different projects, we seek to develop and implement action plans to promote awareness and conservation to protect all levels of marine life.

MARINE BIODIVERSITY AND CONSERVATION PROJECTS

Marine biodiversity is the living diversity that encompasses all marine ecosystems, species and populations.

At SUBMON, we work to prevent the loss of biological diversity in the Mediterranean and in oceans all around the globe.

PROJECTS TO RESTORE, IMPROVE AND MITIGATE THE IMPACT ON MARINE ECOSYSTEM SPECIES

SUBMON has projects to measure and mitigate the impact of human activity on marine ecosystems. These impacts are the result of different activities, such as boat mooring, pollution from dumping urban waste water, fishing and coastal construction, and many more.

SUBMON carries out environmental impact assessments, action plans and campaigns, and makes legal improvements and draws up technical documents to improve the marine ecosystem’s situation.

PROJECTS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING WORKSHOPS

Throughout education and a participatory approach, we aim that citizens who participate in our projects and campaigns develop critical thinking skills, environmental awareness and get empowered!

All of SUBMON’s educational projects are designed and implemented with one main goal: Creating a real, respectful, lifelong change in the relationship between the different audiences and the Ocean.

MARINE STEWARDSHIP AND COOPERATION FOR DEVELOPMENT

The conservation of marine ecosystems has become a priority not only for scientists but also for citizens and political leaders.

SUBMON conducts national and international events, involving different interested players in multi-sectorial debate spaces. The purpose is to develop interdisciplinary solutions that help to protect and raise awareness of different marine species.
